Heart-wrenching photos from 2022 March For Our Lives

Following the devastating elementary school shooting in Uvalde, Texas — just one in a string of mass shootings that recently occurred in the United States — thousands of people marched throughout the country in support of gun control on Saturday.

The events were organized by March For Our Lives, a movement that originated in 2018 after the Parkland, Florida school shooting. Now, four years later, students and others rallied in various cities to once again fight for change.

"After countless mass shootings and instances of gun violence in our communities, it’s time to take back to the streets and march for our lives," said the official March For Our Lives site. Here are harrowing yet inspiring photos from different protests:
