The shadow home secretary, James Cleverly, says the BBC should move to a subscription model, claiming 'it has a back catalogue of some of the best television in the world'. The Conservative leadership candidate made his comments during a Q&A during at the party's annual conference. He went on to say: 'Why don't we make sure that when China obsesses over Peppa Pig ... that they pay for it rather than demanding that we pay for it all over again?'
